  • Abstract
The photo degradation of fipronil in aqueous with xenon lamp as light source was studied, and the effects of NO3-, NO2- and NH4+ on the photo degradation rate of fipronil were systematically investigated. The results showed that direct photolysis of fipronil under xenon lamp irradiation was found and followed first-order kinetics. But the presence of NO3- and NO2- inhibited the photolysis fipronil. With the increase of the initial nitrate/nitrite concentrations, the photo degradation rate of fipronil had a negative correlation with the initial nitrate/nitrite concentrations. In addition, the addition of ammonium ion has little effect on the photolysis of fipronil.
