Abstract
A zeroth-order resonator constructed from a composite right/left-handed waveguide-type transmission line is proposed. The zeroth-order mode has the same fields at all unit cells constituting the transmission line. The mode has two kinds of fields dependent on the boundary condition at the both ends. The radiation characteristics of a resonator with radiative windows are investigated. The plane of polarization changes due to the boundary condition. The radiation pattern agrees to the pattern of the array factor with the same number of elements. The radiation efficiency above 0.95 is obtained. Finally a resonator composed of 4 unit cells is made to confirm the radiation characteristics.
