Abstract
We previously proposed an inter-cluster interference cancellation method to improve the spectral efficiency of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). In these systems, neighboring cells form clusters around a few remote base stations (RBSs) that cooperatively communicate with subscriber stations (SSs) via Multiuser Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO). Co-channel inter-cluster interference can strongly degrade system performance given wide area service with limited frequency resources. The interference is suppressed by controlling three system parameters: cluster size (the number of RBSs cooperating), frequency reuse factor, and cell edge SNR. This paper conducts computer simulations to optimize the system parameters with the proposed method and confirm the resulting spectral efficiency improvement.
