Abstract :
A 60-GHz rectangular slot antenna with backed cavity in low-temperature cofired ceramics (LTCC) is presented. A cavity is placed underneath the radiating slot for generating unidirectional radiation patterns. A 2×2 antenna array is designed and fabricated to investigate the coupling effects on the port impedance, isolation and radiation patterns. The measured port isolations are better than 15 dB, the 10-dB return loss bandwidth about 15%, and the broadside gain about 6.5 dBi. The presented antenna is suitable for the phased array with scanned beam operation.
