Abstract
This paper will focus on the investigation and development of microwave components for applications in multimedia satellite communication. This effort is part of the national R&D project MULTIFEED, which is funded by German DLR/BMWI. The goal of the project is the realization of a Multiple Feed per Beam antenna, that is capable of reducing the satellite payload while maintaining full area coverage for the communication services. A Multilayer LTCC (Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic) technology has been used to ensure high isolation between channels and small module size simultaneously. The modules have been designed for operation in Ka-band (27.5 - 31 GHz), which is the satellite´s up-link frequency.
