Abstract :
Low voltage power line communication is a popular choice in electrical information transmission. Since power lines are devised for transmission of power at 50-60 Hz and at most 400 Hz, the use this medium for data transmission, at high frequencies, presents some technically challenging problems. Besides large attenuation, power line is one of the most electrically contaminated environments, which makes communication extremely difficulty. Traditional algorithms are short in distribution network noise analysis as its characteristic of wide frequency and abundant pulse components. A distribution network noise analysis algorithm based on empirical mode decomposition is proposed in this paper. This algorithm can improve the adaptation capability in different time scales by utility of empirical mode decomposition. The results of verification had shown this algorithm were precise in 220V power line noise decomposition, and provided a technology support in further noise model establishment.
