Abstract :
We present a study of the frequency and temperature dependent THz refractive index and absorption coefficient of the nematic liquid crystal mixture BL037. The refractive indices and absorption coefficients for ordinary and extraordinary polarization are extracted from the measured data using a precise analyzing algorithm. We find that BL037 has the highest THz birefringence found so far.
