Abstract :
Dose measurements tables are available for use in Radiology but are only valid in the specific experimental conditions. In this paper, accurate computer program was developed in order to evaluate HVL of a filtred X-rays source and the corresponding dose distribution in a water phantom along its central axis. For this purpose, we make use of EGS4 Monte Carlo simulation code (From Stanford Linear Accelerator Centre). The results are compared to experimental data (F. Wachsman, C. Drexler).
