Abstract :
The development of a full scale PACS project is being conducted at the University Hospital of Geneva. A software program developed in Geneva allows images from different modalities to be visualized with the same graphic user interface and on a variety of different workstations. This software constitutes the main key to an open architecture for the PACS. It is designed as a portable and extensible platform to allow an easy customization to different clinicians needs.
