Abstract
A simplified model for relative excitation thresholds of cylindrical excitable fibers in response to external electrical stimulation is presented. The approach is based on the induced transmembrane potential of target fibers and includes their "characteristic lengths," thereby accounting for different fiber diameters and the "net driving force" from neighboring fiber segments.
