Abstract
The design of large multichannel magnetometer systems for clinical applications have to be optimized carefully — in order to obtain an instrument which is capable to collect simultaneously all of the information needed for the measurement of transient pathological phenomena. Criteria for this optimization, such as spatial sampling frequency, sensor design and dimension of the array are discussed, utilising a novel quality factor, the equivalent source noise.
