Abstract
Magnetic inverse solutions using a single current dipole were tested with fields from an inhomo-geneous torso model including lungs and cardiac blood masses. Hexagonal grids of gradiometers similar to those used in multiprobe MCG measurements were assumed. The source localization accuracy was analyzed by varying the number of measurement points of the grids, and by adding magnetic noise. It was found that for the localization of a dipolar source a 19 point grid with 4 cm spacing is sufficient.
