Abstract :
A compact printed log-periodic dipole antenna (CPLPDA) with a notched band is proposed for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. The width of the largest dipole is reduced with the method of folding the dipole arms, and capacitive rectangular patches are loaded at the end of the arms for further reducing the size. A notched band is generated by integrating a U-shaped slot into the CPLPDA for anti-jamming purpose. The impedance bandwidth with VSWR less than 2 is from 3.1GHz to 10.6 GHz. The measured results are in agreement with the simulated results.
