Abstract
A simple and low-cost method for improving RF performance in phase modulation radio-over-fiber (RoF) systems by using stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) is proposed and demonstrated. We present a simple analytical model to assess the relationship between performance improvement of the phase-modulation RoF link and the carrier suppression ratio x. The experiment results show good agreement with the theory.
