Abstract :
The paper presents and discusses a multiyear rain rate and concurrent attenuation propagation database at Ka-band in a Earth-Satellite link. Data is analysed in several temporal scales from hourly, monthly, seasonally to yearly periods concerning mainly variability issues. General local rain climate issues are highlighted. Long term seasonal attenuation distributions are also compared to the concurrent rain attenuation and some discrepancies discussed. The attenuation cumulative distributions prediction using ITU model and the locally measured rain rate is presented and discussed.
