Abstract :
In remote sensors a RF wireless link can be used to transmit the collected data to a reader unit. In order to improve the sensor lifetime, an inductive link could be used to sporadically reload the sensor battery without physical access to it. However the presence of a coil integrated in the same chip together with the antenna will degrade the RF link performance. In this paper, simulated and measured results will be used to quantify this degradation as a function of the distance between both elements, which will limit the minimum chip dimensions.
