Abstract :
For the mobile reception of satellite signals, technologies like antenna diversity and angle diversity have already been evaluated in the field [1]. The MIMOSA project targets the evaluation and modelling of satellite MIMO propagation channels for land mobile users. The project is currently in progress and its full results are expected in the second half of 2011. The project covers two measurement campaigns: the first measurement campaign was performed in August 2010 and its goal was to allow statistical analysis of the dual-polarised 2×2 MIMO channel from a single satellite. A complementary measurement campaign is planned in 2011, covering the detailed evaluation of selected scenarios with respect to channel frequency selectivity and angle of arrival. This paper gives an overview of the first measurement campaign and first results gained by the analysis of the data.
