Abstract
This documents presents a dynamical approach to model electromagnetic transmission through a rain field. The work is embedded in a project aimed to quantify information from attenuation caused by precipitation in commercial point-to-point radio links. This sub work analyses the effect of scattering at drops of a Marshall-Palmer rain field of 500m length. The scattering is performed with Mie formulas and accumulated at a receiving point. The rain field is dynamical using the terminal velocity depending on the drop size for the fall of the drops. We give results for the electric field transmitted through the rain field. These are analysed concerning co- and crosspolarized components as well as the Doppler noise spectrum.
