Abstract :
This paper offers an insight into the course “Ultra Wideband Antennas” organized by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology within the framework of the European School of Antennas. Both the didactic point of view and the scientific perspective of the course are presented. The most important features and characteristics of the Ultra Wideband devices are shown, both from a component and a system point of view. Moreover, the important elements to be taken into account in the design of Ultra Wideband-based systems are regarded. Finally, examples of applications of the Ultra Wideband technology are given.
