Abstract
Security threats such as denial-of-service attacks can slow down, or in the worst case, paralyze a big part of the network and cause limited availability of service. This can result in loss of revenue and can badly damage the reputation of the service provider. Other drivers for security are eNodeB spoofing and unauthorized access to network equipment meant to disturb or steal network capacity. This paper describes LTE transport network with a security solution for mitigating and reducing the number of security threats. Specifications by 3GPP standard are achieved by using the widely recognized IPsec technology and PKI infrastructure.
