Abstract
This paper studies parametric stability and adaptive control of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) with unknown parameters. First, the impact of the parameters on the equilibrium location is investigated for PMSM system. Then, an adaptive controller is designed to transfer closed-loop system into dissipative Hamiltonian form. The energy distribution of closed-loop system can change automatically with the shift of unknown parameters. The energy function always achieves minimal value in different equilibrium states determined by unknown parameters so that the adaptive parametric stabilization is realized. Finally, an example is given to show that the adaptive controller makes PMSM system parametrically stabilizable while the unknown parameter changes.
