  • Abstract
    We demonstrate compensation of optical fiber nonlinearity by a novel end-span scheme. Operation on a 40 Gbit/sec RZ-DPSK signal before transmission in 191 km fiber pre-compensates self phase modulation to improve the BER power penalty by >;3.5 dB.
