  • Abstract
ZnO nanocrystals with different morphologies have been synthesized by hydrothermal method employing zinc acetate dihydrate [Zn(CH3COO)2·2H2O] and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) as the starting reactants and characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The results show that the as-synthesized products are hexagonal wurtzite structure of ZnO and exhibit flake-like, flower-like and rod-like structure, respectively. Their growth mechanisms are also tentatively elucidated.
