Abstract :
This paper introduces the design of 800 kW doubly-fed induction machine (DFIM) system, which include DFIM system´s structure, vector control strategy and the operation of converter. Three-phase, half-wave cycloconverter and stator flux-orientated vector control are adopted to achieve motor speed control and permit leading power factor (PF) operation on the stator side. There is no inter-group reactor in the cycloconverter and the operation of converter is different when the motor exchanges its state from asynchronous to AC excitation. This system has been experimented in a pump station. Experimental waveforms and analysis are given.
