Abstract
The reliability of the control plane in the GMPLS controlled optical networks is an important issue because data transmission services availability depends on signaling operations. In this paper partial redundancy of the control plane routers is proposed to improve overall reliability of GMPLS network in response to the need of costs reduction. The influence of the number of redundant routers on reliability improvement is quantity evaluated by simulation experiments. Moreover, using of k-Weighted Dominating Set algorithms for nodes selection for redundancy is proposed. Efficiency of different algorithms is verified and compared. The results of preformed simulations confirm their efficiency for this purpose.
