Abstract :
Three-dimensional laser radar system (LADAR) based on InGaAs/InP 4×4 avalanche photodiode (APD) array using 1550 nm eye-safe laser is presented in this paper. Since LADAR provides higher spatial resolution and higher accuracy in the same applications with the microwave RADAR, it is important to sustain such benefits in the final performance. In our LADAR system, various aspects in eye-safe LADAR, ranging from the high-sensitivity detector and system design issues, are covered as well as the implementation results of 4×4 APD focal plane array for flash LADAR imaging.
