Abstract :
A high resolution potentially jamming-resistant Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) system is presented based on UWB-OFDM architecture. SAR images are reconstructed for Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) in jamming scenarios and in friendly environment based on Range-Doppler Algorithm (RDA). Suitable waveforms to achieve anti-jamming capabilities in case of hostile environment and high resolution image in case of friendly environment are proposed and tested for point scatterer as well as for full 2-D SAR image reconstruction. The analysis showed that UWB-OFDM SAR provides anti-jamming capabilities through pulse diversity in addition to having a potential to produce high resolution target images in friendly environment. The utilization of UWB- OFDM signal for SAR system will be extremely applicable for high resolution image data collection for civilian purposes while providing significant anti-jamming capabilities for military purposes.
