Abstract :
An optimization approach is reported for electrooptic (EO) interactions in a sensor plate of the live electrooptic imaging scheme so as to provide high image quality and clarity for real-time visualization of aerially propagating W-band radio waves. The optimization is based on an EO interaction model composed through comparisons of experimentally obtained wave images with numerical results simulated with several interaction models. The comparison implies that phase evolution of W-band wave is not negligible with respect to the roundtrip time of sensing laser in the EO interactions. Requirements for optimized EO sensor plate and its holder are clarified and discussed with the model.
