Abstract
This paper proposes a synchronization method for chaotic systems with unknown bounded disturbances. The slave system is designed as an adaptive sliding mode observer which is robust against the disturbances. The unknown upper bound of the disturbances is estimated by adaptive law derived from Lyapunov stability theorem such that the slave system asymptotically converges to the master system. Two examples, Rössler and Arneodo system, are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
