Abstract
The Glider, Monitoring, Piloting and Communication (GLMPC) system was developed for the Office of Naval Research´s (ONR) ocean glider Technology Transition Initiative (TTI). It forms an essesntial part of a command and control system for multiple gliders operating simultaneoulsy and multiple types of gliders. This paper describes the GLMPC system´s initial requirements, which were primarily human factors issues, in addition to the system´s architecture, and a brief description of the user interface components. GLMPC was delivered to the Navy in 2007 and continues to be used operationally by the Navy.
