Abstract
Energy efficiency, network scalability, and intelligent interaction are important elements for building up today´s wireless sensor networks. This paper proposes an event directional cluster routing protocol as a method to resolve such issues. In senor networks, a lot of detected data is duplicated, which leads to increase of transmission costs because of sensor´s characteristics. In order to prevent sensor nodes from sending duplicated data fundamentally, they would transmit by generating events. In addition, event manager nodes would transmit to base nodes or higher-level manager nodes by integrating events of sensor nodes within their management range. Because sensors, which do not generate events, are continued to operate as the sleep mode, energy costs and unnecessary transmission could be reduced at the same time so that it enable to interact intelligently.
