  • Abstract
    With the high frequent occurrence of large scale of blackouts and the development of smart grids, wide-area protection and control system (WPCS) with synchrophasors becomes the research focus. Since the performance and the reliability of WPCS are crucial for the security of the system, it is of great importance to test the system carefully before its commission. However, it is hard to solve this problem. In this paper, a general testing scheme and platform for WPCS are designed, and the key technologies in establishing the testing platform are discussed. The dynamic testing system has realized a typical WPCS, and provided necessary interfaces for realizing a new one. It only needs to reconfigure the programs and the conjunctive relations of master station and sub-stations before testing a new WPCS.
