Abstract
Modeling of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) signal and image reconstruction of a moving target is considered. SAR topology and mathematical expressions of SAR signal formation called direct transform are analytically described based on three-dimensional (3-D) geometry, linear frequency modulated (LFM) waveform, and reflectivity function of the target. Image reconstruction equation named inverse transform including two Fourier transforms and phase correction is derived. Polynomial phase correction algorithm for SAR imaging of a moving target is developed. To verify the SAR geometry, signal modeling and image reconstruction scheme of a moving target a numerical experiment is carried out.
