Abstract
Metric selection in software engineering could be a cumbersome and time-consuming task, and in particular, for web information system due to its inherent immediacy characteristics. Hence, a specific tool for web systems, based on a well-grounded model, is greatly needed. In this paper, we propose a model to address the challenge of metric selection for web systems, and illustrate WDMES (Web Development Measurement Expert System) which has been developed based on this model. We´ve examined our model by performing a statistical hypothesis testing on the empirical results from web developers.
