Abstract :
In this paper, the hybrid implicit-explicit finite-difference time-domain method is applied to solve periodic structures in 2D case. Numerical formulations of the periodic HIE-FDTD for a 2D TE wave are presented and the numerical stability condition is studied. The results calculated by this method agree well with those obtained by using the conventional periodic FDTD method. When the unequal space increments are used in different dimensions, high computation efficiency can be obtained.
