Abstract :
By the beginning of 21st century, developing smart and energy efficient environments has gained pace, leading to new ideas like smart grids. Having smart Homes and residential areas is the first step of this evolution. In this paper we provide some design considerations of smart and green homes, mainly focusing on energy management and efficiency solutions. We also mentioned the drawbacks in developing such technologies in Iran and provide suggestions to accelerate this evolution.
