Abstract :
About the research of fire flame segmentation, the edge growth segmentation arithmetic proposed in the article uses HSI color vector as growth seed. This method makes full used of color images´ color and space characteristics, it uses color´s comparability of region color mean to confirm the edge pixels. According to the principle of region growth and border tracking, a close border line is shaped by edge growth rule, and then, edges´ combination and segmentation is completed according to the connectivity among regions and comparability among colors. This segmentation arithmetic costs much less than traditional method.
