Abstract :
NFC (Near Field Communication) is a recently emerging technology for short range communications aimed to enhance existing near field technologies such as RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). In this paper, NFC is introduced in terms of operation principles and compared with the existing short range communication technologies. The NFC-enabled mobile systems are technically discussed with respect to architecture and operating modes. Then, NFC as a mobile payment solution is analyzed in terms of security and compared with other existing mobile payment solutions by observing various metrics.
