  • Abstract
A 13.3-inch flexible EPD is successfully driven by the developed OTFT backplane. A soluble semiconductor, a peri-xanthenoxanthene derivative (PXX), is applied to the active layer of the OTFTs. The OTFT shows a mobility of 0.5 cm2/Vs and thermal stability at 150°C. The display can be bent with a radius of 5 mm without additional failures because the OTFT backplane is constructed using mechanically soft materials, such as organic semiconductor, polymer insulators, and ductile metals.
