Abstract :
A hybrid active matrix organic light emitting pixel compensation concept based on current feedback has previously been proposed by our group. Its relation to the well known current mirror pixel structures which also gives insight into the reason for the excellent dynamic characteristics of this concept will be presented. We will also highlight further design aspects that must be considered for successful practical implementation of the current feedback principle. The practical viability of this hybrid compensation scheme is demonstrated by two actual prototypes.
