Abstract
This paper brings forward a new teaching method of 3-tier group-study in higher vocational education which has been proved effectively and attractively in course teaching in computer department. Students in one class are separated into some groups. In each group, there is a captain whose role is not only a student, but also an assistant whose duty is to help members in learning and evaluate them for teacher. Teacher, captain and member construct a three-tier study-group. The teacher is the mentor of the captains and the captain becomes the mentor of his group. On the other hand, members´ feedback urges on the teacher works well. By the mode of 3-tier group-study, knowledge is passed tier by tier. It has been proved a virtuous circle in higher vocational education.
