Abstract :
A comprehensive framework for probabilistic vulnerability assessment based on two level system model is presented. The impact of both internal and external factors on power system is incorporated in this method. The probability distribution of vulnerability is used as the measure of system vulnerability. An effective method to implement the model in multi-machine power systems is developed and an illustrative example is given. The result shows that the method can give system vulnerability level in real time, evaluate the effect of system control, and assess the sensitivity to the external interference.
