Abstract
This paper studies a new three-phase active power factor correction (APFC) Circuit based on quadratic buck converter, which can achieve high power factor and extensive step-down ratio. The operation principle of the three-phase quadratic buck APFC circuit was detailed analyzed. Then, the derivation of the equation for unity power factor of the circuit was given. Finally, this three-phase quadratic buck APFC circuit was simulated using MATLAB/Simulink. The results show that the power factor is high to 0.999 and the total harmonic distortion (THD) is low to 3% of the proposed APFC converter.
