  • Abstract
This paper addresses the key issues impacting the adoption of new technology in healthcare organizations. Case studies of new technologies implementation in four hospitals in Thailand are conducted through a series of in-depth interviews to determine the factors affecting adoption process. The results present the key issues that influence adoption decision and implementation processes. At the organization level, the findings contend that these hospitals primarily make decisions to adopt new technologies based on project-related costs. At the individual level, the processes are mostly founded to be affected by human-related issues. Apart from the identification of key factors, the latter part of this paper also includes the mental framework of adoption developed based on the technology acceptance model (TAM).
