Abstract :
Collective acceleration of light ion beams has been studied by injecting a REB of 250keV, 5kA, 60ns into a short dielectric tube in vacuum situated inside a conducting tube. The ion energies obtained by using this moderately intense beam, are around 1–3MeV per nucléon with total currents reaching about tens of Amperes.
