Abstract
In this paper model-based fault detection and isolation (FDI) of complex multidisciplinary engineering systems is considered. Such systems are for example commercial vehicles, mechatronic systems and process plants in the chemical industry. The overall system is considered as a composition of objects. For each object an observer-based residual generator described by a bond-graph (BG) is developed. In the next step these observer objects are merged to the overall FDI system. The stability of this composition is shown. Furthermore a stepwise procedure to narrow down the fault localization is given.
