Abstract :
For power controller design issues, a simplified model of hydroelectric power plant connected to a power grid is presented. Two models are detailed for the hydraulic plant, one for fast dynamics and another for slow dynamics. A reduced order model is proposed for a multimachine power system. The validity of the models was verified by comparing Matlab simulations with measurements carried out on a 252 MVA hydro unit.
