Abstract
This paper describes the application hosting services (AHS) which is a software component of the heterogeneous grid environments middleware developed by RENKEI (REsources liNKage for E-scIence) project. The purpose of RENKEI middleware is to realize the federation/sharing of resources (computers, storages, databases and applications) distributed among multiple grid environments, such as research laboratories, national computer centers, and international grids including several national flagship machines. AHS supports creation of an independent research community based on virtual organization (VO). Community members can share the applications by using knowhow represented by workflows, along with the workflow execution environments covering heterogeneous large scale grid environments.
