Abstract
Sit-to-stand movement is difficult for some elderly people. Therefore, it is important to provide them with feedback regarding their posture and help them stand effortlessly. A motion capture system is one of the best devices to measure posture, but it is difficult to use in everyday life because of its size, cost, and so on. Consequently, we propose a new measurement system to estimate posture during the sit-to-stand movement by using foot pressure, which can be readily used in everyday life. In this paper, the effectiveness of our measurement system is demonstrated under constrained experimental conditions.
