Abstract
Electric field measurement system based on the modulated scattering technique with dielectric cylinder as the modulated scatterer has developed. This system could realize the field measurement without introducing any conducting material into the measurement area and with the minimum of perturbation. Sensitivity of this system was 58 dBμV/m at 1 GHz and at least 50 dBμV/m above 2 GHz with the scatterer which length and diameter were 60 mm and 20 mm, respectively. The sensitivity was increased with increasing the frequency. The obtained spatial resolution is almost same as the average of the scatterer´s length and diameter. Considering these result and unintentional emission limits of regulation for electronic devices such as CISPR 22 definition, this measurement method can determine the field over a wide range of distance, from the very close vicinity of a device to far from a device, for example, one-meter.
